Tucked away in Blackheath at the top of the Blue Mountains, Aqua Ignis is a boutique bathhouse. Just 1.5 hours from Sydney, it’s fast becoming one of the region’s most talked-about wellness destinations.
The Story Behind It
Aqua Ignis was founded by Taku and Lee in May 2025. Taku, born in Japan and raised in the UK and Australia, grew up visiting his grandparents in Osaka, where annual trips to a small neighbourhood bathhouse left a lasting impression, the wooden sliding doors, the tatami rooms, and the ritual of the bath itself. That love for bathing culture eventually merged with Lee’s own journey into wellness, breathwork and sauna building. Together, the pair set out to build a space that fuses Eastern bathing traditions with modern holistic wellness, and Aqua Ignis is the result.

Group Bookings
