Jellybean Pool

Jellybean Pool is a natural swimming hole tucked beneath sandstone cliffs in the Blue Mountains, and it’s one of the easiest to reach from Sydney. Located in Glenbrook, it’s a perfect summer day trip with the kids.

Jellybean Pool is in the Glenbrook area of Blue Mountains National Park. Named for its jellybean shape, it’s surrounded by tall gums and small sandy beaches, making it a local favourite for a swim or picnic.

The Jellybean track is a 1km return walk that takes 30 minutes to an hour. It heads downhill into Glenbrook Gorge, with stairs on the steeper sections. Keep an eye out for kestrels, rainbow lorikeets, gang-gangs and, if you’re lucky, a blue kingfisher.

Swim or float on a lilo in the calm water, spread out a picnic on the sand, or relax in the shade of the gums.

Drive to the Glenbrook entrance of Blue Mountains National Park and park near the start of the track. By public transport, it’s just over an hour by train to Glenbrook Station, then a walk to the track.

Gates are open 8.30am to 7pm from October to April, and 8.30am to 6pm the rest of the year. Park entry fees apply for vehicles.

  • Check the NPWS alerts before you go. The area can be dangerous after rain.
  • Arrive early on hot days, as parking fills fast.
  • Pack hats, sunscreen, water and snacks.
  • Water shoes help on slippery rocks.
  • There are no lifeguards, so watch kids closely and never jump in.
