High On The 80’s

There’s a brand-new cafe that just opened — and it’s everything 80s.

Imagine stepping into a place that feels like you’ve walked into your favourite retro movie: neon colours, memorabilia everywhere, classic 80s hits playing on a jukebox and a menu that’s as fun as the theme. Welcome to the newest themed cafe in Sydney – High on the 80’s.

High on the 80’s menu items: “Pour Some Sugar on Me” Pancakes, “Take On Me” Big Breakie, “St Elmo’s Fire” Croissant

The man behind the magic is Trevor, owner of local favourite Hair on High. Trevor has been dreaming of opening an 80s-themed cafe for years. In fact, he’s been collecting 80s memorabilia since the 80s — from vintage posters and toys to classic signage and arcade gems — all of which are on display throughout the cafe. It feels like stepping back in time — literally.

Whether you’re a parent wanting to share old school memories with your kids or you lived through the decade yourself and miss it dearly, this cafe hits all the right buttons.

This cafe isn’t just a vibe — it delivers on flavour too. The menu is playful, packed with creativity and even more fun for kids. Some of our favourite quirky options include:

“Take On Me” Big Breakie at Penrith’s Newest Cafe
  • Billy Ocean Fish & Chips – a family favourite that kids will actually eat
  • Bon Jovi Banana Bread – sweet, soft and perfect with a morning cuppa or after school snack
  • Milli Vanilla – tasty vanilla shake designed for the adults but adored by kids too

  • The Bangle Burrito – bold, flavourful and totally Instagrammable
  • La Bamba Nachos – loaded, shareable and perfect for lunch with mates

And did we mention the jukebox? Classic 80s tunes fill the space with energy and nostalgia, making this a brilliant spot for a weekend family brunch or a fun afternoon with friends.
