Wonderverse

Perfect for younger children, Wonderverse is designed especially for kids aged 4–10 and their families. Created by acclaimed Australian children’s theatre company Patch Theatre, this 40‑minute guided adventure leads audiences through glowing forests, shimmering fireflies and expansive cosmic worlds where imagination takes centre stage.

Highly interactive and thoughtfully paced, Wonderverse invites children to touch, explore and play within beautifully designed light environments. Multiple sessions run daily, including daytime options, making it wonderfully flexible for families.

CRISTAL PALACE

If your kids love jaw‑dropping stunts and lively music, Cristal Palace is a must‑see. This spectacular open‑air performance transforms the Sydney Opera House Forecourt into a glittering baroque ballroom, complete with a giant chandelier and airborne musicians.

Created by French outdoor theatre company Transe Express, this 70‑minute show blends aerial acrobatics, dance, live music and playful audience interaction. Performed by a 29‑strong international ensemble, it journeys through 150 years of music, from waltz to techno, in a joyful, high‑energy celebration. Star‑Bound: Vivid Sydney Drone Show

Nothing delights children quite like lights in the sky, and the Star-Bound drone show delivers in unforgettable fashion. Returning for its longest season yet, this much‑loved Vivid event features 22 shows across 12 nights, lighting up the skies above Darling Harbour.

Vivid Fire Kitchen: Food, Fire and Fun

With its new home at Barangaroo Reserve, Vivid Fire Kitchen has become an inviting hub for families. Open every night from 6–11pm, it combines open‑fire cooking, live demonstrations, music and DJs in a lively outdoor setting perfect for relaxed family dining.

For families with younger children, Tumbalong Kids is the ideal way to kick off a Vivid evening. From 5–6pm every Saturday, Tumbalong Park hosts free, high‑energy shows featuring much‑loved performers including The Mik Maks, Benny Time, Jay Laga’aia and Angie Who.

With food stalls nearby and easy access to surrounding light installations, Tumbalong Park is the perfect starting point for a relaxed family night out – entertainment, dinner and glowing adventures all in one place.
