The Gables Lake Foreshore Playground Box Hill
The Gables in Sydney’s Hills District just added a fifth playground to its lineup. The new Lake Foreshore precinct is built around a four-hectare lake and sits right beside Stockland Gables Town Centre, giving families a genuine reason to pack a picnic and head west for the day.

A Whopping Five Playgrounds
One playground can keep kids occupied for an hour. Five playgrounds could turn a quick visit into an entire day out. The new Lake Foreshore play space is the latest addition to The Gables community, with a basketball half-court right next door for the older kids who’d rather shoot hoops than climb.
Boardwalks and Walking Tracks
Scenic walking tracks wind through the whole precinct, connected by pram-friendly pathways. Locally sourced sandstone has gone into a new gabion wall along the water, giving the foreshore a natural, textured feel. A picnic space overlooking the lake is already open and pulling in visitors.

If your kids wants more than swings and slides, the Central Playing Fields precinct elsewhere in the development is worth the trip. It’s got sports fields, basketball courts, a skate park, a rock-climbing structure and another playground, plus a fenced dog park and an amenities building with a canteen, change rooms and restrooms.
Bring the Dog Along
Four-legged family members are welcome on the boardwalks and around the open green space. Just keep them supervised and follow the signage near the playgrounds and water’s edge.
Right Next to the Town Centre
Stockland Gables Town Centre sits right beside the lake, so a bathroom break, a warmer layer or a second lunch is never far away. Grab food before you head down to the foreshore, or duck inside if someone needs a break from the sun.

- The town centre is right next door for food, coffee and bathroom stops
- Bring a scooter or bike, the connecting pathways make it easy to get around
- Dogs are welcome on the boardwalks, just watch for playground signage
- Combine it with a visit to Central Playing Fields if you’ve got older kids who want a skate park or climbing structure
- Pack a picnic blanket, the new lakeside picnic space overlooking the water is a great spot to set up
