New Playground Alert: South West Sydney is Getting Its Biggest Family Entertainment Zone Yet
South West Sydney families — something big is coming and you are going to want to hear about this. Construction has just begun on The Woodlands at The Sherwood Macarthur in Leumeah — and when it opens, it will be the largest family entertainment zone in South West Sydney.
The Woodlands is a brand new children’s play precinct being built at The Sherwood Macarthur, the popular hospitality and community venue. Developed in partnership with world-leading playground specialist KOMPAN, The Woodlands has been designed as a complete family entertainment destination — a place where kids can spend hours exploring while parents relax and enjoy great food and hospitality.
Drawing inspiration from the legendary Sherwood Forest and Robin Hood, the precinct will be treehouse-inspired in its design and almost double the size of the venue itself. This is not just a playground. It is a full-scale family adventure zone.
The Woodlands has been designed for children of all ages and abilities, with something for everyone throughout the precinct. Here is what is coming:
- Towering cube structures up to nine metres high
- Interconnected climbing mesh throughout
- Water and sensory play zones
- Basketball courts
- An outdoor viewing screen
- An arcade games zone
- The Spellbound Shack — a dedicated toddler play area for younger adventurers
Its expected to be open is Late 2026 / Early 2027.
