Helloworld Stadium Penrith: Everything Western Sydney Families Need to Know

Big things are happening in Western Sydney, and if you have little Panthers fans at home, this one is going to get them very excited. The brand new $309 million Helloworld Stadium in Penrith is currently under construction and it is set to be one of the most family-friendly venues in all of NSW. Here is everything you need to know.

Helloworld Stadium is the brand new home of the Penrith Panthers NRL team and Western Sydney’s newest major events and entertainment destination. The $309 million redevelopment replaces the original Penrith Park, which first opened all the way back in 1967. So yes — this is a very big deal for the area.

The stadium officially received its name after Australian travel company Helloworld Travel signed on as the venue’s inaugural naming rights partner — a five year deal that puts Penrith firmly on the national sporting map.

Helloworld Stadium is scheduled to open in 2027. In the meantime, the Penrith Panthers have been playing their home games at CommBank Stadium in Parramatta while construction is underway. So if you’re planning a Panthers game day outing this season, head to Parramatta for now and keep Penrith on your radar for 2027.

The new stadium will seat 25,000 fans for NRL games and up to 30,000 for concerts and major events. That is a significant upgrade from the old ground, and means more tickets available for families across Western Sydney and beyond.

This is the part parents will love. The design was shaped by feedback from more than 3,000 fans and community members since 2022, which means real families had a say in how this stadium was built. Here is what is coming:

•  The iconic grass hills have been kept — perfect for kids to run around on.

•  Steeper grandstands bringing fans closer to the action — even little ones in the back row will get a great view.

•  More food and beverage outlets so you’re not walking the entire stadium to find a snack.

•  Increased and improved bathrooms — every parent just sighed with relief.

•  New video boards and sound system for a next-level game day experience.

•  Improved safety and security across the entire venue.

•  Four gender neutral changerooms.

It’s not just footy! Once it opens, Helloworld Stadium will also host concerts, motocross events, and other major sporting events throughout the year. Think of it as Western Sydney’s new entertainment hub — a place the whole family can keep coming back to no matter what the season.

Western Sydney is growing faster than almost anywhere else in Australia, and infrastructure like this matters for local families. The stadium is part of the NSW Government’s broader investment in the region and is expected to create around 500 jobs during construction, with more than 650 ongoing roles once it is up and running.
