Penrith Beach Set for Two More Summers
In a move set to thrill Western Sydney families, the NSW Government has confirmed that Penrith Beach will remain open for an additional two summer seasons. This announcement comes alongside a substantial $9.2 million investment aimed at enhancing recreational facilities in the region.
more outdoor fun and Community Programs
Since its debut in December 2023, Penrith Beach has become a cherished summer destination, drawing over 330,000 visitors with its expansive sandy shores and inviting waters. To ensure its continued operation through the 2025–26 and 2026–27 summer seasons, the government is allocating $5.2 million for maintenance and management.
Penrith Beach serves as a hub for community education and safety. The Junior Lifesaver program, which has already equipped more than 80 children aged 4 to 12 with essential water safety skills, will continue to be a focal point. Additional initiatives, including free skin checks and learn-to-swim workshops, are also planned to promote health and safety among beachgoers.

more Recreational upgrades
The remaining $4 million of the investment is earmarked for upgrades to nearby facilities, notably the Sydney International Regatta Centre and Penrith Whitewater Stadium. These enhancements aim to bolster the area’s appeal as a premier destination for outdoor activities and water sports enthusiasts.
A Win for Western Sydney
The extension of Penrith Beach’s availability underscores the government’s commitment to providing accessible recreational spaces for Western Sydney’s growing population. By investing in both the maintenance of existing amenities and the development of new programs, the initiative seeks to foster community well-being and engagement.
As summer approaches, Western Sydney families can look forward to enjoying the sun, sand, and surf at Penrith Beach, knowing it’ll be around for 2 more summers.
