Deepwater Pump Track Is Now Open in Western Sydney — And It’s One of Australia’s Largest
A brand new free pump and jump track just opened in Milperra, built for cyclists and scooter riders of every level. Here’s everything families need to know.
If your kids love bikes or scooters, this one needs to go on your list. The Deepwater Pump Track has just officially opened in Milperra, and it’s shaping up to be one of the best free things to do in Western Sydney for active families.
Built by Canterbury-Bankstown City Council in partnership with the NSW Government, the track spans over 200 metres and was designed by Dirtz — the same team behind some of Australia’s most loved pump tracks. It’s purpose-built for both bicycles and scooters, and there are separate runs to suit every age and skill level.
What’s at the Deepwater Pump Track?
Experienced riders
Successive jumps, switchbacks & tilted features
Beginners
Tabletop (flat surface) run for safer learning
Junior riders
Dedicated kids’ run, separate from the main track
The surrounding area has also been upgraded — there are now pedestrian paths, shelters, bike racks, seating areas, extra parking, toilets, and plenty of green space. It’s been designed to be a full outing, not just a quick stop.
What to expect when you visit
The track is right near the M5 turnoff and sits alongside the Kelso Sports Fields and the newly built Deepwater Park Play Space — so there’s plenty to keep the whole family busy. Little ones who aren’t quite ready for the pump track can head to the playground while older kids ride.
The track design is intentionally wide-appeal. Dirtz Managing Director Brett Barnes says it’s currently one of the biggest pump-and-jump tracks in Australia, and was built to be as accessible as possible for different riding styles and abilities.
Tips for families
- Helmets and pads are strongly recommended — especially for younger riders trying the track for the first time
- The junior run is separate from the main track, so little ones can practise without bigger riders coming through
- Scooters are welcome alongside bikes — it’s not bikes only
- Pair it with a visit to the Deepwater Park Play Space next door for a longer family outing
- Parking and amenities are on site — no need to pack ahead or hunt for toilets
- It’s free to use and open to the public — no bookings needed
