About barnardos australia
Barnardos Australia has been caring for children for over 100 years, and this new centre is a return to the community after the Auburn ELC closed in December 2025. As part of Barnardos Australia’s Children’s Charity, the centre is run as a not-for-profit, Child Safe Organisation. This means creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where every child feels valued, respected and supported to thrive.
WHat’s in barnardos merrylands?
This is a purpose-built centre, fit for 91 children per day across the 0-6 age range. It’s been designed to spark curiosity and a genuine love of learning, with:
- Natural, nature-based learning environments
- Purpose-built play and exploration zones
- Literacy, STEM and discovery experiences
- Creative and imaginative play spaces
- Cosy reading nooks with home-like furnishings
- Indoor-outdoor learning that flows seamlessly
Every space has been thought through to support kids’ independence, wellbeing and learning through play, an environment built around how children actually learn.
