There’s nowhere quite like it. A table above the lagoon, the surf rolling in below, everyone from the mums’ group to the grandparents settled in for a long, easy lunch. That’s RAFI URBNSURF, sister restaurant to the much loved RAFI North Sydney, led by Chef Matias Cillóniz, whose Peruvian roots run through a coastal inspired menu built for sharing. Scallops in umami butter, lobster slow grilled over ironbark embers, and plates built to land in the middle of the table and be passed around.
The little ones get a menu of their own, and the rooftop terrace gives everyone room to spread out.
When there’s something worth celebrating, RAFI URBNSURF has the room for it too. Our private Surf Suites open onto uninterrupted lagoon views and seat up to 110, ready for birthdays, christenings, baby showers and everything in between. Add in a menu built for sharing and a rooftop terrace for everyone to spread out, and it’s a setting that turns an ordinary celebration into a proper occasion.
Down on the lawn, summer looks a little different. From Thursday 1 October, Sandy’s is opening up its weekly lawn series at URBNSURF Sydney Olympic Park. Live music drifting across the green, games for the kids, a cold drink within arm’s reach, and the whole afternoon ahead of you. It runs every week through to February, so there’s always a reason to spread out a blanket, order a margarita, and let the kids loose on the games while the surf rolls in behind you.
When the sun’s out and the pool’s calling, Sandy’s poolside cabanas frame the lawn, an idyllic spot for sunshine, sunsets and a proper siesta, six seats, a shady base right at URBNSURF, and half your spend to enjoy on food and drink while you’re there. Watch the little ones catch their first waves, or grab a board yourself, there’s a feast waiting when you return. Order a margarita, let the kids tear off toward the lawn games, and let the afternoon do the rest.
