Sydney Science Festival Family Day

Are your kids budding scientists and want to discover the wonders of space and tech?

On Saturday 17 August from 10am-3pm, get excited for a fun and educational day of free family-friendly science workshops and activities. There will be lots to see and do for the whole family!

Drop by Parramatta Square for live robotics demonstrations, slime and lego workshops and the entertainment stage serving up funky-fresh tunes, nitrogen explosions and 0-gravity hip-hop performances. No registrations required – get there early to avoid the queue!

Then, visit the Ground Floor at PHIVE to unravel the mysteries of space. Register online to experience a Q&A with a scientist, get hands-on with aircraft origami design and explore space through story writing. The PHIVE Library on Level 1 will also put on a suite of drop-in science activities but be sure to get in early to avoid the queues!

Step into the newly renovated Parramatta Town Hall to experience the sounds of space and construct a star clock to map the celestial sky. Also, don’t miss out on booking to hear from Australia’s first ever female astronaut, Katherine Bennell-Pegg.

Various activities require registration. Book your favourites now!

Family Science Day is brought to you by City of Parramatta in partnership with Powerhouse as part of the wider Sydney Science Festival.
