Guide to Western Sydney’s Op Shops & Thrift Stores

There’s nothing quite like a good op shop find. Western Sydney is full of great op shops, if you know where to look.

When it comes to donating, it’s worth being mindful. Not every store calling itself an “op shop” is truly about helping locals. Some places send valuable donations off to their online store, instead of keeping them in-store where local families could actually benefit.

It’s also hard to ignore how some stores have lost touch with what op shopping should be — prices can get excessive, with secondhand Kmart and Target items sometimes sold for more than their original retail price.

We’ve found that independent stores such as Savers, Uturn & Finders Keepers consistently strike the right balance — great prices, quality items, and a massive range of clothing, homewares and accessories. Many even offer discounts when you donate, making it easy to give back and grab a few treasures while you’re there.

A massive warehouse offering thousands of new items daily, including clothing, shoes, homewares, and books. Most items are priced under $10, making it a haven for bargain hunters. When you donate your pre-loved items in-store, you’ll also score a 20% discount on your next purchase.
