Balloon Story Live Sydney: A Family-Friendly Immersive Experience

After its fly-away success in New York, Balloon Story Live has arrived in Sydney — and it’s already drawing crowds. This summer pop-up transforms the Fever Pavilion at Sydney Olympic Park into a large-scale, walk-through balloon wonderland designed for playful exploration, creativity and memorable family moments.

With more than 400,000 balloons shaped into interactive installations and larger-than-life sculptures, Balloon Story Live offers a bright, engaging experience that works for toddlers through to adults.

Balloon Story Live is an immersive art and play experience where visitors move through a series of themed environments filled with balloon sculptures, interactive elements and photo-worthy displays. Rather than a guided tour, families explore at their own pace, making it ideal for kids who like to linger, touch, discover and move freely.

The exhibition has welcomed over 70,000 visitors internationally and earned a 4.7-star rating in New York, where it was praised for its creativity, scale and sense of fun.

Balloon Story Live at Sydney

Balloon Story Live is made up of eight themed rooms, each designed to feel completely different from the last. This is what keeps kids engaged from start to finish — just when they think they’ve seen it all, the next space opens up.

Families can expect to explore:

  • An Under the Sea room, filled with ocean-inspired balloon sculptures that feel calm, colourful and immersive
  • A jungle-themed ball pit, where kids can jump in, play and burn off energy in a safe, enclosed space
  • The World of Wonders room, featuring balloon versions of iconic landmarks including the Eiffel Tower and the Sphinx, giving kids a playful way to “travel the world”
  • A space-themed room, complete with a giant balloon rocket, surrounded by cosmic colours and larger-than-life designs
  • Additional themed environments that shift in scale, colour and atmosphere, keeping the experience fresh and exciting as families move through the exhibition

Each room is designed to be walk-through and interactive, allowing kids to explore freely rather than standing behind barriers. Parents will appreciate that there’s no rush to move on — children can spend more time in the rooms they love most.
