Season Squad The Musical is Coming to Penrith — A New Family Show for the Spring School Holidays
If you’re planning the October school holidays in Western Sydney and looking for something a little different, Season Squad The Musical is worth locking in. This brand-new Australian children’s musical is playing two performances at The Joan, Penrith, and it’s tailor-made for families with young kids.
Season Squad follows four best friends — Chill, Sunny, Blaze and Bloom — who each embody a season of the year, living together in the fictional town of Calendar Grove. Through original pop songs and plenty of humour, the show explores friendship, belonging and what makes each of us a little different (and why that’s a good thing).
The show’s original music comes from an Emmy-nominated songwriting team with credits on Descendants, ZOMBIES and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, giving Season Squad a polished, professional pop sound that’s rare for a brand-new Australian children’s production. Add colourful character design and some high energy dancing, and you’ve got a genuinely enjoyable outing.
Recommended age: 4+
Runtime: 60 minutes, no interval
Location: The Joan, Penrith
Dates: 6-7 October
Tickets: $25
Group and OOSH/vacation-care bookings welcome
With only two Penrith shows on the calendar, this is one to book early rather than leave to the last minute.

The Joan is proud to present the Sydney premiere of Wolf, a gasp-inducing contemporary circus experience bringing ten extraordinary performers to The Joan
Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in Penrith.
Known for pushing the boundaries of circus, movement, dance and theatre, Circa creates spectacular live performances that leave audiences wondering how the human body can possibly do what they’ve just witnessed.
In Wolf, the wolf becomes a symbol of our untameable selves, liberating, anarchic and savage. Across two contrasting acts, the performers transform from disruptive forces of chaos into a ferocious pack, combining breathtaking acrobatics, intense choreography and raw physicality.
Set to the relentless primal rhythms of DJ Ori Lichtik, the ten Circa artists grasp, tear, climb, leap and balance with fierce abandon. Striking, form-hugging costumes by designer Libby McDonnell complete this thrilling production.
First performed in Berlin in 2024, Wolf has wowed audiences internationally, earning a
★★★★½ review from Limelight.
